It’s no secret that I believe in the Bible. I believe it to be exactly what it says. It has more historical evidence of being true than any other writing in the history of the world, by far. And in this beautiful, holy word of God, there is one verse that has been sticking out in my mind lately: “every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.”
The more and more I think about that verse, it makes me think about the huge amounts of people that I personally know that haven’t made this confession yet in theirr life. There’s some who think being a good person gets them into heaven.. there are some who think there is no heaven.. There are some who blame God for bad things happening to them, so they choose not to follow him. There are many reasons that people even make up as to why they don’t follow Jesus. But what happens if those people are wrong? I mean if they are wrong, they spend eternity in the fire… they spend eternity in loneliness… they spend eternity in pain and suffering… I think eternity is a pretty long time. Eternity is a bit longer than this earthly life that may last 100 years if you are lucky.
EVERY knee will bow… EVERY tongue will confess. So here’s my question: If every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord…. why not do it now? Why wait??
Sometimes I struggle with the smallest of issues. But you know what? Life is far too short to be worrying. I believe that you change the world in some way every single day you are alive.. and if you are worrying about things and sulking in your hardships, you aren’t changing the world the way God wants you to. Life is just too short for that.
So I’m done. I’m done waiting. I don’t know about you, but I’m done.
I’m done crying over getting screwed over by girls… I’m done worrying about where I will end up after college… I’m done thinking about the future so much that I forget about the wonderful gift of the day I have to live in the present… One day I will be gone. One day I will be lying 6 feet undergound… For some people, that day comes a lot quicker than they had expected… So don’t waste it… Don’t waste your life.. It’s a fragile thing. We are here today and gone tomorrow… And when you are gone, what will you have to say for the life you lived? What will you have to say when you stand before the Creator of the world? Don’t waste it.. Don’t wait. It’s not worth it.
If you haven’t confessed that Jesus is Lord yet… I urge you to do it now before it’s too late. Your life will never be the same again, I promise you that.
And if you have confessed that He is Lord… I urge you to stop waiting.. stop waiting for ways to live for God.. realize that every day is a gift, and life is far too precious to waste.
Thank you Jesus for saving me.. for forgiving me even in these broken times when I feel useless. Thank you for catching me when I fall, and giving me the strength to carry on. I want to live for You and only You. Amen.
“sometimes I feel disappointed, by the way I spend my time,
How can I further Your kingdom, when I’m so wrapped up in mine?
in the blink of an eye, that is when
i’ll be closer to You than I’ve ever been
Time will fly, but until then,
I’ll embrace every moment I’m given”
